THE SUNDAY MAIL TRANSURBAN BRIDGE TO BRISBANE FUN RUN EVENT ENTRY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Event to be held: Sunday September 14, 2025
Definition:
Competitor Declaration means the statement included in the Entry Form to the effect that the person completing the Entry Form agrees with the Event terms and conditions.
Entry Fee means the fee payable to register for the Event as published on the Event Website.
Entry Form means the online entry form to register for the Event as published on the Event Website.
Event means the mass-participation fun run/walk which takes place in Brisbane and which includes both the 5km course and the 10km course. The route for each course is shown on: www.bridgetobrisbane.com.au
Event Location means any venue, precinct, road or pathway public or private used to host any element of The Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane.
Event Organiser means Event Management Solutions Australia ABN: 15 156 444 496) (“EMSA”).
Event Owner means Queensland Newspapers Pty Ltd ABN 61 009 661 778 (“QNP”) Event
Event Website means www.bridgetobrisbane.com.au
Race Office means The Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane Race Office located in RNA Showgrounds, Bowen Hills.
Race Kit means the information about the Event, the race bib and attached timing tag provided by the Event Organiser to registered entrants in the Event.
Team Administrator means the individual over the age of 18 years responsible for creating and managing a team entry in The Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane.
Virtual Event means a run or walk completed by an entrant in a manner chosen by them, at location/s chosen by them within the Virtual Event Period.
Virtual Event Period means the period between 0:01 AET on Sunday September 14, 2025 until 23:59 on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
ENTRANT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1) All entrants are required to complete and submit an Entry Form and pay an Entry Fee and any applicable registration fees or merchant fees as nominated in the entry process to participate in the Event. The Entry Form is only valid for the person whose name and address details are listed in that form.
2) Each entrant hereby acknowledges and agrees that their Entry Fee is non-refundable except as set out in these terms and conditions or as required by law.
3) Each entrant may only submit one entry for each Event.
4) Each entrant understands that their Entry Form and Entry Fee is valid only for the Event and distance selected by the entrant.
5) Each entrant acknowledges that participating in any Event may involve a real risk of serious injury or even death from various causes including over exertion, dehydration, and serious accidents with other participants, spectators or road users, and weather conditions. Without limiting the foregoing, it is the responsibility of each entrant to take appropriate measures in relation to these risks including to remain hydrated during the Event.
6) Each entrant recognises the difficulties of the Event and agrees that they are solely responsible to determine whether they are physically fit to compete safely in the Event with the specific demands of the Event in mind, and that they have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical or allied health practitioner.
7) If an entrant becomes aware of any medical condition or impairment that will be detrimental to their health if they participate in the Event/s, or are otherwise sick or injured prior to the Event such that they are no longer able to compete safely in the Event, they must withdraw from the Event by contacting the Event Owner by phone on 1300 77 77 55 or by email info@bridgetobrisbane.com.au. An entrant's options if it is required to withdraw for medical reasons are set out in clauses 42 to 44 below.
8) Each entrant consents to receive medical treatment, including ambulance transport, that may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident and/or illness during the Event. In the event of injury, accident and/or illness, costs of medical treatment and ambulance transportation are the responsibility of the entrant.
9) Each entrant must provide an emergency contact name and phone number and agrees that the Event Organiser or Event Owner may contact that person and exchange personal information with them in case of an emergency.
10) Entrants must ensure that their ability to participate in the Event is not significantly impaired by alcohol or drugs. Entrants must not behave in a manner that is offensive or aggressive, that may diminish the reputation of the Event (or of the Event Owner or Event Organiser), is contrary to law or is otherwise inappropriate.
11) Entrants must maintain safe, prudent and respectful behaviour at all times during the Event. Entrants are responsible for their own conduct whilst at the Event and must pay for the cost of repair of any damage caused because of their conduct.
12) Entrant acknowledges that the Event Owner or Event Organiser may determine that additional rules or instructions are reasonably required on the day of the Event to ensure that the Event is conducted safely and in compliance with the law. Each entrant agrees to obey and accept the Event rules and any other reasonable instructions of the Event Owner or Event Organiser or any agents, affiliates, employees, members and volunteers of the Event Owner or Event Organiser (whether announced on the day of an Event or otherwise).
13) Each entrant understands that the Event Organiser and Event Owner reserves the right to refuse to register an entrant for the Event at any time for capacity limit, safety, insurance or any other reason, including in circumstances where a valid Entry Form has been submitted by the entrant in accordance with clause 1. If the Event Organiser or Event Owner refuses to register an entrant, and that entrant has paid an Entry Fee, the Event Organiser or Event Owner will refund the entrant's Entry Fee.
14) The Event Owner and Event Organiser's decisions in relation to the Event or these terms will be final and no correspondence or disputes entertained.
15) If an entrant is under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must read the Competitor Declaration and these terms and conditions of entry and accept them on behalf of the entrant. If an entrant is under 16 years of age they must also be accompanied by an adult when competing in the Event.
16) Each entrant acknowledges and agrees that the Event Owner and Event Organiser may refuse access to the Event, or require an entrant to leave an Event, if the Event Owner or Event Organiser reasonably believes that an entrant breaches any of these terms and conditions (including by failing to comply with the Event safety protocols or directions in accordance with clause 17 or any reasonable rules or instructions in accordance with clause 11), they may disqualify the entrant and direct the entrant to cease participation in the relevant Event immediately and the entrant must comply. In the event of disqualification, entrant details may be removed from publicly available databases, registration or results lists associated with the Event, at the discretion of the Event Owner.
COVID 19
17) Each entrant agrees that they will not attend the Event if the following apply:
a. Entrant displays symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) such as: cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath on the day of the Event or at any time in the 14 days prior to the Event;
b. Entrant is aware that they are testing positive for coronavirus (COVID 19) on the day of the Event;
c. Entrant is required to be in quarantine or isolation pursuant to medical advice or public health advice or orders.
18) Each entrant agrees that they will comply with all Event safety protocols and directions Such protocols and directions may be advised by written communication, social media, verbal messaging or announcements, or signage displayed at an Event.
EVENT CANCELLATION
19) Entrants acknowledge and agree that the Event Owner and Event Organiser reserve the right to postpone or cancel the Event/s for any reason and if this occurs, an entrant's options are set out in clauses 45 to 47 below.
20) Entrants will be notified of postponements and cancellations via the email address provided in their event entry and via The Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane social media. Details on the process to request a refund due to Event postponement or cancellation will be provided via email to registered entrants.
EVENT COMMUNICATIONS
21) All entrants consent to receiving SMS and/or email messages containing safety instructions or emergency management information related to the Event/s.
22) Each entrant consents to the publication and/or use for marketing, advertising, promotional and editorial purposes in any form of media whatsoever including social media, and without any payment or remuneration of any kind to the Event entrant, of their name, personal information (but, except with express consent to the specific proposed disclosure and use, not medical or health information), timing data, image and statements made on the day of the Event to representatives of any of the Event Companies . This consent only extends to:
(a) use by any of the Event Companies or their Australian related bodies corporate; and
(b) use of any of the entrant’s data to promote the Event and future similar events and the involvement of one or more of the Event Companies with the Event or any future similar events.
For the purposes of this clause, Event Companies means any of the Event Owner, Event Organiser, any other company listed in clause 88 or any other advertised/promoted sponsor of the Event.
EVENT PARTICIPATION
23) Each entrant agrees to undertake sufficient training prior to their participation in the Event.
24) The Event date is Sunday, September 14, 2025.
25) To participate in the Event, entrants must have registered for the Event as per clause 1 of these terms and conditions. During the registration process, each entrant must select a colour zone, which corresponds to an assembly zone at the start line.
26) Event entrants must participate in course and the distance stated on their registration, and must commence the Event within the colour zone selected at time of entry and shown on their race number. Entrants commencing outside of their colour zone will be disqualified.
27) Entrants may not sit on, stand on, mount, intentionally move or knock down or otherwise interfere with any barriers placed on or around the course.
28) The route for each distance of Event is shown on: https://www.bridgetobrisbane.com.au/. Entrants must follow the route for the part of the Event for which they are registered and must remain at all times within the marked course.
29) The start line for the 10km course is located at the bottom of the Gateway Bridge in Murarrie, Queensland, and the start line for the 5km event is located at Hercules Park, Hamilton, Queensland.
30) Event Entrants are required to assemble at their start line marshalling area in their nominated colour zone prior to the start time of their event.
31) Start times for Event entrants in the 10km course are 6am (AET) for elite sporting wheelie participants at 6:10am (AET) for other entrants as per the website listing. Start time for Event entrants in the 5km course is 10am (AET).
32) Each Event entrant acknowledges and agrees that the Event Organiser and Event Owner may change the start time, location or format of the Event and/or may alter the course routes at any time up until the start of the Event to accommodate critical matters. Alterations may include changes to the course route, change of distance or any other changes. For the purposes of this paragraph, critical matters are matters which are beyond the control of the Event Organiser and Event Owner including changes to government regulations, public health orders or laws or issues relating to a pandemic or epidemic, issues relating to or arising from natural occurrences such as flood or manmade problems which impact the proposed route or other changes in direction from State, Federal or Local Government, Police, Department of Transport, Transurban or any other organisations involved with the Event. The Event Owner will notify entrants of any of these changes via email and the Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane Facebook page. No refunds will be payable for any such changes provided the Event can still take place with both a short and a long course.
33) To qualify as a finisher in each of the 10km and 5km Events, entrants must assemble behind the designated start line, await official start, and then finish the course along the exact route listed on the website www.bridgetobrisbane.com.au and must always remain within the marked course. Entry into the course prior to the official start will result in disqualification, resulting in no recorded race time.
34) Individual entrants can enter and compete in both 10km and 5km Events subject to completing the online entry form and paying the entry fee for each distance, but will be ineligible to win both. The entrant’s 10km result will be deemed their registered time and awardable prize if applicable.
35) Entrants will only be permitted to participate (walk or run) if unassisted, and without the aid or use of bikes, skateboards, rip sticks, rollerblades or similar items when competing in the Event, with the exception of entrants in strollers, wheelchairs or similar devices.
36) Pets, except guide dogs and approved service dogs, are not permitted. Participants who would like a service dog to accompany them through the Event must obtain prior approval for this by contacting the Event Organiser prior to the Event by email to info@bridgetobrisbane.com.au
37) Each Event entrant will, to the extent it is practically possible to do so, report any accidents, injuries, loss or damages suffered during the Event to the Event Organiser before leaving the Event Location or course route.
REFUNDS AND WITHDRAWALS FROM THE EVENT
Transfer of entry
38) Entrants may not sell their registration for cash or other benefits in such a way that they earn a profit. Entrants may seek to transfer their registration only in limited circumstances as set out in these terms and conditions.
39) An entrant may nominate a substitute entrant to participate in their place at the Event. A request for a substitute entrant can be made by completing a Bridge to Brisbane substitute entrant request form and submitting it to the Event Organiser so that it is received prior to 5pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 (AET). Requests received after this date/time will be considered by the Event Organiser at their discretion, acting reasonably. Substitute entrant request forms are available by contacting the Event Organiser by email at: info@bridgetobrisbane.com.au. An additional fee of $20 is payable at the time the form is lodged. Approval of a substitute Event entrant is at the discretion of the Event Owner, to be exercised reasonably.
40) If substitution is approved, then the substitute entrant must complete and submit an entry form so that it is received prior to 5pm on Wednesday August 27, 2025 (AEST). Only the personal details of the person competing can be changed. If transfer to a substitute entrant is approved, the substitute entrant must compete in the same Event selected in the original entrant's entry form. Confirmation will be sent to the substitute entrant via email.
41) Approval of a substitute Event entrant is at the discretion of the Event Owner, to be exercised reasonably.
Withdrawal for medical reasons
42) If an entrant becomes aware of any medical condition or impairment that will be detrimental to their health if they participate in the Event, or are otherwise sick or injured prior to the Event such that the entrant needs to withdraw from participating in the Event (and in this regard the Event Organiser may, acting reasonably, request evidence of such medical or health issue be provided to them), the entrant will be provided with the following options:
a. Transfer their entry to another person for no profit in accordance with clauses 38 - 41 above;
b. Transfer their entry to a future event in accordance with clause 44 below;
c. Obtain a refund of their entry fee
43) Where an entrant is entitled to make a request under clause 42, those requests must be made by the entrant emailing the Bridge to Brisbane Race Office at: info@bridgetobrisbane.com.au within 28 days after the date of the Event from which they have withdrawn and any such requests made after the deadline will not be processed and any request must be clear as to which option is being requested. Where no such request is received within that time, a refund will not be issued.
44) If an entrant requests a transfer to a future Event and that request is approved, the entrant will be emailed a free entry code to the 2026 event.
POSTPONEMENT OR CANCELLATION OF THE EVENT
45) Entrants acknowledge and agree that the Event Owner and Event Organiser reserve the right to postpone or cancel the Event/s for any reason.
46) If an Event is postponed or cancelled, entrants will be provided with the following options:
a. Transfer their entry to a future event in accordance with clause 47 below;
b. Request a refund of their entry fee, (less any applicable administration fee, delivery fee and additional donations) within 28 days after the intended date of the Event which was cancelled or postponed. Where no request for refund is received before the deadline no refund will be processed.
47) Details on the process to request a transfer to a future Event, or a refund due to Event postponement or cancellation will be provided via email to registered event participants.
Change to terms and conditions
48) If the Event Owner amends these terms and conditions after a person has entered to participate in the Event and in a way that has a material adverse impact on the entrant up to and including on the date of the Event in accordance with clause 89, the entrant may withdraw from the Event and, if they do that, may request a refund of their Entry Fee. A request for a refund of the Entry Fee can be made by emailing the Bridge to Brisbane Race Office at: bridgetobrisbane.com.au Any such request can be made by the entrant up to and including 28 days after the originally planned (as at the date of the relevant person registering to participate in the Event) date of the Event.
49) WARNING UNDER THE COMPETITION AND CONSUMER ACT 2010 (CTH)
To the extent permitted by section 139A of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), the Event Owner and the Event Organiser will not be liable for any:
a. death;
b. physical or mental injury of an individual;
c. contraction, aggravation or acceleration of a disease of an individual; or
d. the coming into existence, the aggravation, acceleration or recurrence of any other condition, circumstance, occurrence, activity, form or behaviour, course of conduct or state of affairs in relation to an individual:
i. that is or may be harmful or disadvantageous to the individual or community; or
ii. that may result in harm or disadvantage to the individual or community,
except where the liability arises from the Event Owner or Event Organiser's reckless conduct.
If you sign this form, you will be agreeing that your rights to sue the supplier under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) are excluded, restricted or modified in the way set out in this form because the services provided were not in accordance with the statutory guarantees set out in the Australian Consumer Law (Cth).
NOTE: The change to your rights under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), as set out in this form, does not apply if your injury is due to reckless conduct on the supplier’s part. The supplier's conduct will be reckless conduct if the supplier is aware, or should reasonably have been aware, of a significant risk that the conduct could result in personal industry to another person, and engaged in the conduct despite the risk and without adequate justification. See section 139A(5) of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
50) Nothing in these terms and conditions seeks to limit liability under any guarantee, warranty or condition implied by statute that cannot be excluded by law. For any liability that cannot be excluded in accordance with clause 49 (or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law), the liability of the Event Owner and the Event Organiser to each Event registrant will, to the extent permitted by law, be limited to $200. This limitation does not apply where the liability arises from gross negligence, fraud, criminal conduct or wilful misconduct by the Event Owner or Event Organiser.
51) Each entrant acknowledges that they participate in the Event at their own risk and in consideration of, and as a condition of acceptance of their entry into the Event, each entrant agrees to release and indemnify (to the extent permitted by law) the Event Owner, the Event Organiser, the Event sponsors and each of their agents, affiliates, employees, members and volunteers (“those indemnified”) from any and all liability relating to an entrant’s:
a. death or personal injury (including where liability arises from negligence), except to the extent that such liability arises from the gross negligence of the Event Owner or Event Organiser in accordance with clause 49; or
b. death, physical or mental injury of an individual, the contraction, aggravation or acceleration of a disease of an individual, or the coming into existence, the aggravation, acceleration or recurrence of any other condition, circumstance, occurrence, activity, form or behaviour, course of conduct or state of affairs in relation to an individual, except to the extent that such liability arises from the reckless conduct of the Event Owner or Event Organiser in accordance with clause 49; or
c. any other liability that cannot be excluded (including where liability arises from negligence), except to the extent that such liability arises from the gross negligence, fraud, criminal conduct or wilful misconduct by the Event Owner or Event Organiser in accordance with clause 48.
EVENT CAPACITY AND TIME LIMITS FOR THE EVENT
52) Subject to the maximum number of participants being reached earlier, individual entries for the Event will close at 11.59am on Saturday, September 13, 2025 (AEDT). Team entries will close at 11.59 pm on Sunday, August 27, 2025 (AEDT). Entry is not approved until the Event Owner has processed payment and confirms entry by email.
53) The maximum number of total entrants (including entrants in both the 5km and 10km courses) for the Event has been limited to 35,000.
54) To meet the road closure re-opening schedule, Event course cut off times will apply. To ensure the safety of all entrants, any entrant who is unable to meet the Event course cut off times will not be permitted to remain on the roadway and will be transported by bus to the finish location. A time limit until 11:30am on the day of the Event for the completion of both courses for the Event is imposed. Entrants in the 10km Event must have passed the Start line by 7:45am (AET). Entrants must reach Kingsford Smith Drive by 9:00am (AET) and all entrants must be off Kingsford Smith Drive by 11am, those who are still on the course at that time will be required to move to the adjacent footpath or transported by bus to the finish site.
The course cut off times are as follows:
10km course:
10km start line – 7:45am
2km marker – 8am
6 km marker – 9am
9km marker – 9:55am
5km course:
5km start line – 10:30am
4km marker – 11:30am
CHANGES TO COURSE DISTANCE OR COLOUR ZONE
55) Each entrant agrees that if, after having entered the Event they wish to change from the distance originally entered to another distance, or the colour zone originally entered to another colour zone within the Event, such changes are conditional upon the selected distance or colour zone entry capacity not having been reached at the time the change request is processed by the Event Owner. Changes to distance or colour zone are at the discretion of the Event Owner.
56) A request for alteration of distance or colour zone can be made by emailing the Event Organiser at: info@bridgetobrisbane.com.au prior to 5pm on Friday August 8, 2025 (AET). After this date, an additional fee of $10 is payable. This additional fee will cover the administrative costs associated with processing the request form.
57) Each Event entrant agrees that if they change distance from the 10km course distance to the 5km course distance, no refund is payable for the difference in Entry Fee.
58) Each Event entrant agrees that if they change distance from the 5km course distance to the 10km course distance they will be required to pay the difference between the 5km event
RACE KITS AND TIMING
59) During the registration process, each entrant will have the option to either collect their Race Kit or pay to have it posted. Race Kit collection will be from the John Reid Pavilion, Brisbane Showgrounds from September 11, 2025 to 12 September between 8am-6pm and on September 13, 2025, between 8am-2pm. Entrants who choose to pay to have their Race Kit posted will have their Race Kit posted to them via Australia Post standard untracked mail service. Race Kit mail outs will commence in July 2025.
60) Entries will not be accepted on the day of the Event. Race kit collection will not be permitted on the day of the Event except where a replacement kit is required. Entrant acknowledges that a replacement kit may not be available, and the issuance and collection of a replacement kit may be made at the discretion of the Event Owner, acting reasonably.
61) The Race Kit will include a timing tag attached to the back of the race number to enable each Event entrant’s run to be timed. Event entrants must not tamper with the timing tag attached to their race number. Timing services are provided by MultiSport Australia. The Event Owner and the Event Organiser take no responsibility for errors or omissions in the timing data, subject to law.
62) By participating in the Event and wearing the race number, each Event entrant consents to the Event Owner, Event Organiser and MultiSport Australia collecting and publishing the entrant’s timing data and personal information including name, year of birth, gender, race number, event time and event placing and retaining and displaying this data in perpetuity. Entrants acknowledge that the official Event App (if applicable) may display their location on Event day as they complete the Event course.
63) All participants will be timed using electronic timing which will record the time elapsed between the participant crossing the start line and finish line. Official race results will be determined by the order in which participants reach the finish line in accordance with the International Association of Athletics Federation rules of competition.
64) The Race number will be disposable. Event entrants are not required to return the Race number at the end of the race.
65) Event entrants may choose to have their personal times for the Event sent to them via SMS (“SMS Service”) in which case they will be charged a fee of $2.50. Event entrants who choose to have their personal times for the Event sent to them via SMS acknowledge and agree that their personal information (including individual race times for the course, name and mobile number) will be used by the Event Organiser, Event Owner and MultiSport Australia in order to provide the SMS Service. The Event Organiser, Event Owner and MultiSport Australia will not, subject to law, be liable for any problems associated with providing the SMS Service due to mobile congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise, or as a result of issues associated with timing tags. The fees associated with the SMS Service will not be refunded if an entrant changes their mind about participating in the Event.
66) Results including race name, number, distance and time will be posted on the Event Website and may be published in the Sunday Mail/Courier Mail newspaper and digital media.
EVENT ENTRANT PHOTOGRAPHIC SERVICES
67) By participating in the Event, each entrant consents to the official Event photographic company (Marathon Photos) capturing, publishing, storing, using and distributing any entrant’s photograph taken while attending or participating in the Event. Each entrant consents to Marathon Photos receiving the personal information collected during the entrant registration and/or timing process including: the entrant’s race number, timing data and personal information including name, email address and mobile telephone number.
Event agree that their personal information (including individual race times for the course, name, race number, email address and mobile number) will be used by the Event Organiser, Event Owner and Marathon Photos to provide the Event photographic services. The Event Organiser, Event Owner and Marathon Photos will not, subject to law, be liable for any problems associated with providing the Event photographic services due to mobile congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise.
Entrants acknowledge that they will receive an SMS from Marathon Photos after completion of their Event, with the opportunity, but not the obligation, to buy photographs that record their participation in the Event.
68) All transactions completed by entrants for purchase of photographs are between the entrant and Marathon Photos. The Event Owner and the Event Organiser take no responsibility for errors or omissions in the delivery of photographic services, subject to law.
EVENT PREPARATION
69) The Event Owner may publish suggested training programs for competitors leading up to the Event. Any such programs are provided as general information only and not as advice. Each entrant needs to determine for themselves the suitability of those programs for themselves. The Event Owner has no liability, subject to law, for any damage or illness suffered by an entrant for following all or any of the published training programs.
ENTRANT OBLIGATIONS
70) Each Event entrant agrees that they will not participate in the Event using roller skates/blade, hand-cycles, skateboards, scooters, bicycles or any non-traditional form of running shoe
71) Each Event entrant agrees that they will not bring pets/animals to the Event except registered support animals.
72) Each Event entrant will, to the extent it is practically possible to do so, report any accidents, injuries, loss or damage suffered during the Event to the Event Organiser before leaving the Event Location or course route.
BAGGAGE
73) Each Event entrant acknowledges and agrees that they are responsible for their personal possessions and athletic equipment during the Event and related activities. The Event Organiser will not provide a secure area and neither the Event Organiser or Event Owner will have any liability for loss or damage of personal possessions.
TEAM ENTRIES
Additional terms and conditions for teams participating in the Event
74) Entrants can enter a team with a minimum of 5 participants in the 5km or 10km Event.
75) All team entries must be submitted by website only. Each team must nominate a Team Administrator who is aged 18 years or older. The Team Administrator is responsible for creating the team within the event registration platform.
76) To be eligible to win the 1st, 2nd or 3rd team category in the 10km or 5km event all team members must run in their own race number. If a registered or unregistered runner runs in another team member's race number that team will be disqualified. Team category winners will be based on the top five fastest times within a team for each distance.
78) When choosing and referring to a team name, teams must choose a name that is unambiguous and not offensive as it will be used at all times for consistency, to assist with administration of entries and processing of results.
79) Once a team is created, individuals wishing to join a team must complete the entry process and elect to join an existing specific team.
80) The Team Administrator must only provide the details of team members who have consented to being team members and having their details supplied on their behalf by the Team Administrator. Where a team member is under 18 years of age the Team Administrator must have the consent of that team member's parent or guardian to supply their details and register their participation in the team for the Event.
81) All individual members of the team must be aware of and have read the Competitor's Declaration and these terms and conditions of entry. By participating in the Event participants will be deemed to have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions of entry and the Competitor's Declaration. For the sake of clarification, the participation of any individual member under the age of 18 years is subject to clause 15 of these terms.
82) During the team creation process, the Team Administrator will have the option to select the method of delivery of all team Race Kits. Race Kits for all team members will be delivered via the method selected by the Team Administrator.
83) During the team creation process, the Team Administrator will have the option to select the method of payment for all team members. Where the Team Administrator selects the “Pay Now” option, team members will be responsible for payment of their own entry. Where the Team Administrator selects the “Pay Later” option, the Team Administrator will be responsible for payment of all entries for all team members. Team members are not considered to be entrants in the Event until payment has been received.
ONLINE FUNDRAISING
84) GoFundraise Pty Ltd provides an online fundraising and entrant sponsorship facility for entrants in the Event.
a. During the registration process, entrants will be given the option to have an online fundraising page automatically created on their behalf and a link to their page emailed directly to them. If the entrant selects ‘yes’ to the option to have an online fundraising page automatically created the personal data from their race entry, including name, address, telephone number and email address will be automatically provided to GoFundraise for the purposes of creating an online fundraising page. The link and login details for the online fundraising page will be emailed to the entrant within 7 days from completion of entry registration.
b. At the completion of the online registration process, entrants will be given an option to create a GoFundraise online fundraising page. GoFundraise will not store an entrant's personal information until the entrant has completed the GoFundraise registration process. If an entrant chooses not to click on the Fundraising link during registration, no personal data will be provided to GoFundraise (unless the entrant has already clicked yes to the GoFundraise fundraising automatic page option under paragraph a. above). Entrants can choose to create a GoFundraising online fundraising page at any time by visiting www.bridgetobrisbane.com.au fundraising section.
USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
85) By registering for Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane, each entrant (“you”) consents to your personal information being used for the purposes set out below:
86) The Event Owner collects information about you, including for example your name, phone number and contact details which you provide when registering for the Event, for the purposes of Event administration as well as information from data houses, social media services, our affiliates and other entities you deal or interact with for example by using their services. The Event Owner collects this information using the services of the Event Organiser.
87) The Event Owner collects and uses this information for the purposes of Event administration, promotion of the Event and future events, editorial coverage of the Event and its participants, to improve the Event or future events, to notify you of future events which may be of interest to you (including future Bridge to Brisbane events), for the purposes described in its Privacy Policy and for any other purposes that the Event Owner describes at the time of collection.
88) The Event Owner may disclose your personal information to its related companies, including those located outside Australia as described in our Privacy Policy. It may also disclose information to the organisations set out below:
a. Event Management Solutions Australia (Event Organiser – in respect of event organisation): You can seek access to personal information that holds about you by contacting info@emsaustralia.net.au
b. MultiSport Australia (timing software provider - in respect of timing entrants): You can seek access to personal information that MultiSport Australia holds about you by contacting: info@multisportaustralia.com.au. They will use and disclose your information in accordance with these terms and conditions and otherwise in accordance with their privacy policy which you can see here: https://www.multisportaustralia.com.au/privacy
c. Syntax Software Pty Ltd (registration software provider - in respect of registration of entrants): You can seek access to personal information that Syntax Software Pty Ltd holds about you by contacting: simon@syntaxsoftware.net.au
d. Aruga (Event PR – in respect or PR and event publicity): You can seek access to personal information that Aruga holds about you by contacting hello@aruga.com.au
e. Emergency Services or Event Medical service providers in the case of a medical emergency.
f. The Event Owner may also disclose your personal information such as first and last name on the Event Website, if you are a prize winner or otherwise as required by law.
89) If you consent, your personal information will also be used for the purposes described in the relevant section of the online entry process by these organisations:
a) Marathon Photos (Event photography): You can seek access to personal information that Marathon Photos holds about you by contacting: support@marathonphotos.com.
b) GoFundraise (Online fundraising provider): You can access the personal information that GoFundraise holds about you by emailing privacy@gofundraise.com.au
90) The organisations set out above may transfer your personal information outside of Australia. If you choose not to provide information, the organisations set out above may not be able to provide you with services in relation to the Event and you may not be able to participate in the Event. The privacy policies of each of the organisations set out above contain information regarding how you may access and correct the personal information that they hold about you, and how you can complain about how they collect or use that personal information.
91) Further information about how the Event Owner handles personal information, how you can complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles, how we deal with a complaint of that nature, how you can access or seek correction of your personal information and our contact details can be found in our Privacy Policy: https://preferences.news.com.au/privacy.
ENTRY FEES AND FUNDRAISING
92) The entry fees for the Event are as follows and apply to each entrant regardless of whether or not they are participating as part of a team or as an individual:

b. 5km - $55.00 (inc GST) 12.01am Sunday, April 27, 2025 (AET) to 8:59am Wednesday, April 30, 2025 (AET) (FLASH SALE)
c. 10km – $74.00 (inc GST) 9am Wednesday April 30, 2025 (AET) to Midnight, Monday, June 30, 2025 (AET) (EARLY BIRD)
d. 5km - $64.00 (inc GST) 9am Wednesday April 30, 2025 (AET) to Midnight, Tuesday , June 30, 2025 (AET) (EARLY BIRD)
e. 10km - $79.00 (inc GST) 12.01am Tuesday July 1 ,2025 (AET) to 12pm Saturday September 13, 2025 (AET) (GENERAL ENTRY)
f. 5km - $69.00 (inc GST) 12.01am Tuesday July 1, 2025 to 2 pm Saturday September 13, 2025 (GENERAL ENTRY)
Children under 15 years of age may nominate their school to receive a $5 donation when completing their online Event registration. If a child under 15 years does not nominate their school when completing their online, no donation will be made.
Infants in prams are free but will not receive a race number or event t-shirt.
The cover price of The Courier-Mail for Thursday September 11, 2025, Friday September 12, 2025 or Saturday September 13, 2025 (to be collected with your Event Information Kit) and/or The Sunday Mail for Sunday, September 14, 2025 (to be collected at the completion of the Event) is included the entry fee.
OTHER
93) The Event Owner reserves the right to make alternations to these terms and conditions up to and including on the date of the Event. These alterations may be a result of Government guidelines, public health directives or requirements of organisations involved with the Event. Variations will be posted on the Event website, which entrants must review from time-to-time. Any material changes will be notified to entrants and if an entrant is not willing to participate in the Event under those amended terms and conditions, and can show that the change would have a material adverse impact on the entrant, then the entrant will be eligible to request a refund of any Entry Fees paid to participate in the Event in accordance with clause 48.
94) These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland. Yes I have read, understood and accept the entry terms to the 2025 Event. By accepting these terms I also accept the event prize competition terms.
VIRTUAL EVENT
95) The Event Organiser may include a Virtual Event participation option where entrants can run from any location using their phone
96) Entrants in the Virtual Event must have a supported mobile device with the Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane links to timing
97) Virtual Event entrants acknowledge and agree they will participate and complete their nominated activity in a manner chosen by them, at locations chosen by them and at their own risk in compliance.
98) Virtual Event entrants acknowledge and agree that the Event Owner and Event Organiser will not provide physical support including aid stations, medical support, volunteers, marshals or medical assistance to any entrant.
99) Virtual Event entrants agree that they have selected an appropriate activity, location and conditions for their level of fitness.
100) Virtual Event entrants agree to adhere to local traffic and road laws and all other laws and regulations when participating in their Virtual Event.
PHYSICAL EVENT
101) All entrants (except virtual entrants) must wear their 2025 official race number (which will contain the timing device) – without this race number you will not be allowed to start the Event, and will not receive a race time and will not be granted free travel on Brisbane Transport Buses or Qld Rail Trains up until 3pm on event day only. Entrants must not, and must not permit others to tamper with the timing device strips on the back of the race number as this may destroy the timing technology and will not receive an official race time.
102) Entrants running with strollers can register for any category (excluding the 5km Elite or 10km Elite categories) but must start at the back of their category.
103) To be eligible to register in the 10km Event Blue Elite or Red Runner categories in 2025, male and female entrants must have achieved a maximum official result of 40 minutes and 50 minutes respectively, in the 10km Event in 2023 or 2024. Official results from similar events of the same distance will be considered by the Event Organiser. Requests for access to Blue Elite or Red Runner categories can be made by emailing the Event Organiser at info@bridgetobrisbane.com.au.
104) To be eligible to register in the 5km Purple Elite category in 2025, male and female entrants must have achieved a maximum official result of 20min in the 5km Event in 2023 or 2024. Official results from similar events of the same distance will be considered by the Event Organiser. Requests for access to Purple Elite category can be made by emailing the Event Organiser at info@bridgetobrisbane.com.au.
105) Strollers, wheelchairs and similar devices must have appropriate safety restraints and meet Australian Safety Standards.
106) All entrants acknowledge they will abide by any reasonable directions issued by the Event Organiser and the Police.
